How do I qualify for a Simply Free Checking Account?

To open a Simply Free Checking Account, you’ll need to be at least 18 years of age. You’ll also need to provide:

  • A $25 initial deposit in the form of cash or check when opening an account in person
  • Online only we will provide routing and account number to fund from an existing account
  • Your Social Security Number
  • A valid, state-issued ID

Accounts can be easily opened online or in person. Your online account application should take about 10 minutes to complete.

How much money do I have to put in the account to open it?

When you open a new checking account, you’ll have to make an initial deposit of $25.


How long does it take to get a debit card? How much do debit cards cost?

All our checking accounts feature free debit cards. We offer Instant Issue debit cards, which means we can print a debit card for you at any of our banking centers within minutes. It can take up to 2 business days for our debit cards to activate.


Do you have a free checking account?

Can I deposit a check with my phone or tablet?

Yes, you can. All our checking accounts feature free mobile deposit. You can deposit checks with your phone or tablet using our mobile app.


Do I have to pay for my statements?

No, you do not. We offer e-statements which you can access at any time in online banking. Each month, you’ll receive an email notification letting you know that they are ready. We also offer free paper statements which would be mailed to you monthly. We do suggest e-statements, as they are more secure than paper statements.


How do I set up direct deposit for my account?

We have a simple Direct Deposit form that you can complete and take to your employer. In some cases, your employer may have their own form that they require you to complete. If they require verification of your account number and routing number, we can easily provide that for you as well.
