Field & Main Bank Along with Preston Family Foundation Commit $5,000 to Downtown Cynthiana COVID-19 Relief Fund

Field & Main Bank, along with the Raymond B. Preston Family Foundation, is pleased to announce a charitable contribution in the amount of $5,000 to the Downtown Cynthiana COVID-19 Relief Fund.

This commitment follows the establishment of the Downtown Cynthiana COVID-19 Relief Fund, which was created to assist downtown Cynthiana merchants that have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Both Field & Main Bank and the Preston Foundation are wholly committed to their guiding principles of giving back and building community. As a community bank, giving back is not just a nice thing we do, it is core to who we are – an organization dedicated to giving back in meaningful ways,” said Scott Davis, Field & Main Bank CEO and Chairman of the Board. “We consider ourselves very privileged to be able to support our community members in their greatest time of need and are hopeful this contribution will spur other donations from community members.”

Further, this donation from the Preston Foundation reflects the vision and values of its founder Raymond B. Preston. Preston started his philanthropic organization in order to perpetuate his commitment to giving back to the community and its people who had given him so much. Preston, former Chairman of the Board and majority owner of Ohio Valley Bank (Field & Main Bank’s predecessor entity), and his wife, Hattie, created their family foundation in 1989 and over the past 30 years has contributed millions of dollars to area not-for-profit organizations.

“Our downtown district is the heart of our community and we have made significant improvements over the last five years. Unfortunately, all of our hard work and efforts can be undone easily while battling this pandemic. Our downtown businesses are the true “mom and pop” shops. These businesses are here for their community throughout the year and we want to help in any way we can. If we can help them now, they will help our community later.” said Stephanie Burden, Executive Director of Cynthiana Main Street.

The Downtown Cynthiana COVID-19 Relief Fund was initiated by Cynthiana Main Street in conjunction with Cynthiana’s local government.

The goal of the relief fund is to provide qualifying businesses with enough money to cover their monthly expenses and ease the burden of the current crisis.

Individuals and organizations who would like to join as partners and donate are asked to contact Cynthiana Main Street Executive Director Stephanie Burden by email (cynmainstreet@gmail.com), or phone at (859) 588-0123.
