Field & Main Bank returns as presenting sponsor of the 2017 W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival, a four-day music festival that draws incredible talent and entertainment, as well as visitors, to Henderson, Ky., each year. This year’s event is June 14-17 in Audubon Mill Park, along the Henderson riverfront.

The Handy Festival kicks off at 5 p.m. Wednesday, followed by Thursday’s popular Zydeco night. Two full days of blues follow on Friday and Saturday – starting at noon both days. The line-up features a range of artists – from first-timers to the Handy stage, like Jason Ricci and the Bad Kind and the Dawn Tyler Watson Trio, to headliners, including Tab Benoit and Samantha Fish, as well as crowd favorites, such as Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band and Lil’ Ed & The Blues Imperials.

“The W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival has produced a line-up of nationally known acts that is unrivaled by other free festivals,” said Brian Bishop, W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival vice chair. “It’s a must-see event for blues enthusiasts,” he added. Bishop is proud of the continued commitment from presenting sponsor Field & Main Bank. He said, “This collaboration reflects the values of Henderson, Kentucky, and shows what’s possible when two community-minded organizations work together. The support from Field & Main enables our world-class festival to reach new heights.”

Scott Davis, Chairman & CEO of Field & Main Bank, said, “Our organization has supported the Handy Festival from the very beginning, and it has been a healthy collaboration as both of our organizations have grown and reached new audiences.” He added, “What’s astounding about the Handy Festival is that it’s organized and assembled entirely by volunteers – hundreds of community members who are passionate about featuring Henderson and these fine musicians center stage. It’s a gift to this community and to blues lovers everywhere that they have access to this extraordinary experience at no cost.”

There is no charge for admission to the Handy Festival. For other details, visit www.handyblues.org.
